CES 2016: All the fascinating gadgets that were showcased on 1st day

One of the biggest trade shows of the year – Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2016 – has finally begun and already has come up with amazing new gadgets and devices. Organized every year, it brings out the best out of the technology companies all over the world. Product makers are bringing in high-tech cars, smartphones, tablets, computers, camera, television and a lot more. Here is a rundown of some of the fascinating products that have been unveiled on the first day of CES.

Asus ZenFone Zoom:

Asus brings their new camera based smartphone to the CES – Asus ZenFone Zoom. The ZenFone Zoom has a 13 megapixel panasonic sensor and 3x optical zoom. The device will come to the market in February. It is priced at $399, or Tk. 28,000. Aside from its powerful camera, the other specifications of the ZenFone Zoom is the same as ZenFone 2. It has a 5.5 inch display, 4 gigabytes of RAM and will come in 64 and 128 GB internal memory variant. Battery size of 3,000mAh will give a decent backup.

First USB C Monitor:

The use of USB-C type began in 2015 in laptops and smartphones. Now the famed port has transcended from smarphones and laptops to monitors. Acer has shown off a monitor that can run on these USB-C ports. Part of the H7 series, these monitors are available in 25 and 27 inches sizes. Their IPS panel can display resolution of up to 2560×1440 pixels. They have HDMI connection feature. The USB-C port can be used to charge laptops. Aside from Acer, Lenovo also has brought a USB-C featured monitor to the fair. Their IPS display panel features Thinkversion x24 pro and is 23.8 inch in size. The monitor will come to market in May. Price could be set around $399 or Tk. 28,000.

Samsung’s Refrigerator:

Samsung displayed a large touch screen featured refrigerator, or a large smartphone on the exterior of its door. The smartphones also have capacitive buttons below their touch screen. Otherwise the fridge looks mostly the same as Samsung’s current refrigerator models. Samsung has neither disclosed its release date nor its price.

Lenovo’s new Yoga laptop:

Lenovo’s Yoga series first came to market in 2012. Since then they are releasing new laptop models every year under the series to gain dominance in the laptop market. Lenovo’s long line of Yoga laptop gets its 2016 model – Lenovo Yoga 900s. The laptop has a display of 12.5 inch and it weighs just 2.2 pound. The laptop is available in gold and silver colors.

Virtual Reality Headset Occulus:

Social Media site Facebook’s new virtual reality headset Occulus’s pre-order will begin from tomorrow. For using Occulus Rift will require high end machine on part of the users: the windows machines will have to have i5 4590 or equivalent CPU, 8GB RAM, 3 USB 3.0 port, one HDMI port and GTX 970 graphics card. But what will be their price or how long till they reach the buyers is still unknown.
