They say each passing year makes you a tad older and wiser, but when it comes to passwords, that saying is as void as Facebook’s perpetual reassurance of not tracking and storing your personal information. Passwords are sensitive, and no matter how much emphasis is given on the importance of having a strong password, it seems to go through one ear and right out the other for most people.
SplashData makes a compilation every year of the millions of stolen passwords and sort them out based on popularity. For 2015, over 2 million passwords were leaked and boy, were we appalled by the sheer stupidity of the passwords that made it to the list of the most popular in the last 12 months!

It’s true that it could be difficult to remember passwords and you might opt to use your mobile number or the name of your pet as your password but those are widely vulnerable. However, if we talk about how to make your password stronger with the two aforementioned options, it is rather simple. It’s ideal to have upper case and lower case alphabets, numbers and symbols in your password. Say your mobile number is 560 and your pet’s name is Alex. If you want a password combining these two, it could be, for example, Alex*560#. There could be numerous combinations and it‘s up to you to figure out which you prefer.
Now I know you’ve been waiting to see the list of the post popular passwords of 2015 and here they are (Disclaimer: your brain could temporarily freeze upon realizing the overwhelming dumbness that you are about to stumble upon)
