For the first time in Bangladesh, an e-learning book in Bangla has been launched. The launching ceremony took place at the SSF briefing room in the Prime Minister’s office on Monday. The book, authored by Dr. Badrul Huda Khan, has been translated in Bangla for readers including students and teachers by a2i.
Chief Guest at the launching ceremony, AAMS Arefin Siddique said, “The book will help everyone starting from policy makers to field workers to devise plans regarding e-learning and implement them.”
Author of the book Dr. Badrul Huda khan said, “Our students can now register for classes at world renowned universities sitting in Bangladesh. This online education system is what goes by the name ‘e-learning’ worldwide. The book will herald the beginning of a new era in modern education system in Bangladesh.”
The book is based on e-learning framework, speakers at the ceremony said. The book aims to help in the implementation of a meaningful and flexible e-learning framework catering to the needs of the target student groups.
‘Web Based Instructions,’ published in 1997 by the same author was a best seller in the US. It is still used as a reference guide at more than 500 universities around the world. Various books on e-learning by the same author has been translated in 17 languages.
AAMS Arefin Siddique, VC of Dhaka University, Dr. M.A. Mannan, VC of Independent University, Fahima Khatun, Director General of Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, Dr. Abdul Awal Khan, Director of Institute of Education, Research and Training, Professor Mia Inamul Siddiki, Chairman of NCTB, Anir Chowdhury, policy adviser at a2i and noted singer Dr. Seema Khan were present at the event.
