The two-day SAARC Tech Summit is about to get underway from March 11 at the Bangladesh Institute of Administration and Management Foundation (BIAM) auditorium. IT experts from Bangladesh, India, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Myanmar will participate in this year’s summit. Around 350 IT experts and specialists have already registered for the event. This year, the conference is centered on ‘Architecting Secure Digital Business.’
Representatives from the organizing bodies, CTO Forum and Infocom Kolkata held a conference at Dhanmondi Club today. According to sources, Council for Communication and IT of SAARC Chamber of Commerce will co-host the convention in the absence of Pakitan and Afghanistan.
Dr. Ijajul Huq, general secretary of CTO Forum and Abdur Rafi, head of IT infrastructure and Managing Director of Anandabazar presented all this information regarding the convention headed by CTO’s president Tapan Kanti Sarkar during the press conference. Also present during the conference were Chairman of SAARC Chamber of Commerce’s Council for Communication and IT, Shafqat Haider. Treasurer of CTO Forum, Moinul Islam, and general member Md. Azimul Haq were also present during the press conference.
Law Minister Anisul Haq will inaugurate the convention. State Minister Assaduzzaman Khan and Telecommunications Minister Tarana Halim will present the ICT Excellence Award 2016 on the closing day.
Over the two days of the summit, 11 seminars and symposiums will be held in different categories of IT.
Last year, Professor Jamilur Reza Chowdhury received the ICT Excellence Award for contributions in the education and IT sector.
