The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) has launched a new stock market mobile app to facilitate buying and selling of shares. Finance Minister, AMA Muhith, inaugurated the latest app at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center yesterday.
Investors can download the mobile app on their smartphones and complete stock transactions from home. However, they will have to collect an ID and password from their respective brokerage houses.
The app will make the stock market more dynamic and efficient, Muhith said. M. Khairul Hossain, Chairman of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) was chief guest at the event. BSEC Chairman also said the app will ensure greater accountability and transparency of stock market officials and establish better connectivity between the stock market and investors living in remote areas.
Although the app can be downloaded for free initially, charges will be applied after that. However, the amount is not known yet.
Swapan Kumar Bala, CEO of Securities and Exchange Commission was present at the event among others.
